Our Bulletin Board page contains a calendar of upcoming church events as well as recurring church events such as Sunday Worship and other groups that meet weekly or monthly.

2008 Calendar of Events

Worship Schedule

Morning worship is at 10:00am on Sunday mornings.

Pastor Tom Kinder is available by phone or appointment.Please call him at 333-9967, his home office. He is a 2/3 time minister and works Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. He is available for emergencies anytime.

Books and quiet activities are available in the back of the sanctuary for youth of all ages to enjoy until Children’s Time-or beyond. Take items to your pew to enjoy

Sunday School meets during morning worship. We offer three different Sunday School classes. There is a Bible Story Time for older preschoolers and kindergarteners located downstairs in the library. There is a Sunday School Class for youth in grades 1-3 that will meet in the Sunday School room downstairs as well as a Sunday School Class for youth in grades 4-7 that will meet upstairs in the Pie Room. If you have questions or offers of help you can contact Karen Flett (649-2702).

There is childcare available downstairs for toddlers up to grade three. They may go downstairs anytime but are welcome to stay in the service until after The Time With Children.

Rocking chairs are available at the back of the sanctuary for rocking babies during the service. !

Assisted Listening devices and large print bulletins, inspirational booklets, and copies of previous sermons are available on the table at the rear of the sanctuary. Audio tapes of Sunday
morning worship services are available to borrow - please see one of the Deacons.
The morning worship services can also be heard within the church and in a few surrounding houses at 105.0 on any FM radio.Past sermons can also be found at the Good Words tab here at the site.

Events

• Peace and Justice Events

The Peace & Justice Group’s most current information can always be obtained at their Web site, www.uvpeaceandjustice.org. It has lots of great links and information. You can also contact Maureen Williams at 603-795-4531.

Ongoing and Periodic events:

• Prayer of the Heart - Prayer of the Heart meets every Thursday afternoon in the Newcomb Room at 5:30 PM to hold sessions of silent, centering prayer. All are welcome to come to any of these sessions. The prayer lasts 40 minutes, with an optional fifteen minute discussion following. You may come as late as 5:45 PM, if need be.

• Adult choir rehearses September-June in the sanctuary at 8:45 am on Sundays before the service. The music we sing spans one thousand years and many languages, yet is always something we can learn quickly and feel confident singing. Choir is good exercise, lots of laughter and moments of beauty.

• Thetford Interfaith Junior and Senior Youth Groups usually meet Sunday afternoon & evenings here at the church. All youth are welcome, whatever their spiritual tradition. The groups are under the direction of Karen Wahrenberger who can be contacted at 603-643-3145. This year we are pleased to offer three groups, 6-7th grade (2 PM), 8-9th grade (4 PM) and 10-12th grade (6 PM).

• Telephone Prayer Chain: A telephone prayer chain is being coordinated by Eleanor Zue. If you know of someone who is in need of prayer support, or if you want to be part of the chain, please call Eleanor at 802-785-2915.

• Calendar: Valerie Miller is the Building Use Coordinator. She can be reached at (802) 785-2915. Please do not write anything (including church functions, committee meetings, etc.) on the calendar without contacting her first. Thank you!

• Calling & Caring has volunteers ready to help! If you need help with meals, small jobs, transportation, someone to talk with or prayers please call Eleanor Zue at 685-3182 or 785-2915.

• Weekly Communion: We are now having a brief communion service every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 6:45 in the Newcomb Room. All are welcome.

• Audio tapes of Sunday morning worship services are available for borrowing. Please see one of the Deacons.

• A basket for non-perishable foods for the Thetford Food Shelf is located under the coat rack in the back hallway. Especially needed are canned meats such as tuna, corned beef, etc., and protein meals.

• Donations to the “Hot Box” are welcome. It is the little red box on the table at the rear of the sanctuary. 60% of the money collected will be used to help increase the energy efficiency and affordability of low income housing, especially through weatherizing assistance. 40% will be used to increase the energy efficiency of our church buildings.

• Sign up for altar flowers on the bulletin board in the back hallway. This is an opportunity to honor or remember someone or to celebrate a special occasion.

• Please remember that a Treasurer Reimbursement Form must accompany each receipt or invoice submitted to the Treasurer. These forms can be found in the Treasurer’s mailbox across from the kitchen door.
